Modern Bondage (28 Nov)
Modern Bondage (28 Nov)
From the time there was civilisation,
There was a reluctance to be oppressed,
Even centuries ago, nay millenia,
People have fought against being repressed
The power of the masses,
Stands stronger than the authority of the rulers,
History stood witness, when,
Subjects united for their rights and their druthers
One thing that was common,
Among the many revolutions,
Was the derogatory environment,
And the hopes to find an optimal solution
What has changed since then,
Why do we suffer in silence,
Do we not have what it takes,
Or do we just lack guidance
Are we waiting for Kalki,
Or for Jesus to reappear,
Or for another Prophet,
To bless us and be our commandeer
Or do we think we are free,
That itself is a thing to worry,
Have we lost all sense of awareness,
Or have we transformed into mindless puppies
They keep us informed,
Of all things useless,
While covering up, successfully
All of their falseness
Never before in the past,
Were the masses so duped,
They have handed you a mind-numbing device,
To avoid facing their dissidents grouped
They tell you what’s important,
On you social media feeds,
They study what you watch,
To plant unhealthy seeds
They have the power,
To identify growing discontent,
Instead of correcting,
They always circumvent
When the oppressors have learned from the past,
That the right information can take them to task,
Why have the masses become so complacent,
Fighting each other behind anonymous masks
No one is coming to save you,
And no one will,
The growing frustration and that being bounded feeling,
Will not go till it’s killed
Rouse from your stupor and your mindless scrolling,
Leave levity behind, it's time to get serious,
Demand answers to the curtailment of your rights,
Let’s build together a world, glorious
