Let It Be A Child’s Play… Only
Let It Be A Child’s Play… Only
Childhood memories come alive,
With toys as its real treasure.
Unfolding memories of past, layer-by-layer,
Of all those joys at shops and bargains that never ceased for the greed of more.
How profusely I ponder now, to know
Who typed my choice of toys for me!
For, they remain distinct for boys and different for me,
Who on the planet decided to signify blue for boys and girls with pink?
Why my hazel-eyed Barbie always dressed in pink and was never in my favorite blue!
Guns were tagged for boy’s fun,
At least a bicycle came to me!
From choice of dresses to choice of profession;
Everything came with a tag to me.
But now I want to dress my Barbie in my desired blue,
Let, toys be away from clutches of gender where kids decide to choose,
Between dolls and robots,
And we abstain to signify kids with blue or girlish pink.
