Is it safe, yet?
Is it safe, yet?
Like falling leaves
shriveled and dried
take their final leap of faith,
She gathered pace
as she saw her house
and thought she was finally safe.
Safe from the filth
that had followed her,
Safe from their
unclean words,
Safe at last
from the cruel world,
She lightly hugged her purse.
She'd be safe inside
in her cozy bed,
and never venture out late,
She promised
she won't wear a dress,
if only she reached safe.
Her identity lay buried now
under piles of fear,
She'd turn the news on
or go for a walk,
and that's all that she would hear.
With constant fear,
with conscious minds,
the girls now roam this land,
Is it really safe?
Will it ever be?
Is this how man treats man?!
