In The Thickness Of Night
In The Thickness Of Night
In the thickness of night
When slumber pervades
And no one is at sight
The half moon
Espouses a desire
To be with its favourite star
Well perched
In the extreme corner
Where the sky reaches break even
Does not expand any further
In the quietude of night
The moon takes
Quaint steps
To upload
Silvery silken streak of light
Cheers up lilies
Makes them
Blush and smile
Helps push rue asunder
Amid the vast stretch of night
Dark clouds hover
Play spoilsport
The moon could peep..
Flirt no longer
A blank look
A hollow gaze envelops
Hung verdict
Shrouds sunken face
Cloud slowly disperses
Clear sky garners space
Time too crosses
Line of transition
Opts for less of darkness
With each passing hour
The moon wanes
Sighs and moans choke
Desire to love and be loved
Emptiness fills pace.
