Every night, before I sleep,

I imagine how we would be,

Strung together in affection deep,

You would make me feel like I was important.

If they laughed at me, you would say,

If you want your bones where lie they

Leave my girl, for she is mine

I will never let you down.

We’d be sitting in our cove,

Feeling the chill breeze,

Huddled in a loving embrace.

You would whisper in my ear,

When I’m there, there’s nothing you fear.

Our little dog will be lying on my lap,

We’ll talk about how perfect our life is.

Then you’d turn around, and look at me,

With your captivating eyes, you see

My face like no one can ever

And then I’ll feel lost

For the moment, or for eternity.
