I Hope You Learn
I Hope You Learn
I hope
You learn
To come home
Safely
Whatever it is that you’ve been chasing
Be it the butterflies, or your lofty dreams
After an adventure or apathy.
To not fret or fume
Over anything at all.
No matter what, consequential or petty
They fade into insignificance after all
This, you have witnessed yourself.
To pick yourself up, dust your hands
And continue with your head held high
As I may not be there always
To lift you up
It is the turn of the naysayers now
To break down.
To laugh at yourself
Now this, is humour at its best.
To err is human
To laugh is human too
The Divine is gladdened
That you trust and appreciate
His design.
To sing
To feel yourself,
Anoint, heal or soothe yourself
The megacosm mesmerized
Kindred spirits ignited
Heart and soul serenade
In unison.
To put yourself first on your priority list
Above the rest
To say NO imperatively
Before they walk upon all over you
But that is selfish, you would exclaim
Sure yes! But darling,
Trust me when I say
That is self love.
You come first
And the rest come second, at best
I hope you learn!
