I Can Still Remember

With sound of water, our excitement grew,

The trickles and splashes, flows and washes,

We jumped, we laughed, on each other we threw,

I can still remember our fun in the marshes.

Now world has made my life narrow,

The cubicles and chairs, screens and spectacles,

The happiness now from pictures I borrow,

I now manage fun carrying fancy baubles.

That ground has served its purpose already,

The contracts and papers, roads and skyscrapers,

Things have been made organized and steady,

I now serve my senses with beautiful wallpapers.

When I see the kids jumping in garden,

The free and simples, tree and dimples,

The memories back, things they harden,

I can still remember the falling apples.

I crave again for the good old days,

The flowers and fairies, games and glories,

Wish I could do what heart says,

If I could still create my own stories.
