Hidden Love
Hidden Love
Your touch, a whisper of a shared past,
A smile that reflects a love that couldn't last.
The ache in my heart, a fire of pain,
For a love we built, forever out of reach, in chains.
Burning confessions, trapped on my tongue,
Reality's grip, a cruel song already sung.
I envy your joy, pretend it's mine,
But the truth hangs heavy, a poison-laced wine.
Yet, in stolen moments, a peace I find,
A hope of warmth in the darkness left behind.
For even borrowed sunshine, a brief, stolen ray,
Can chase away shadows for a while, come what may.
So, I'll hold onto these fragments, tiny and small,
A dream of a love that could never stand tall.
And though my heart may yearn,
forever incomplete,
I'll find strength in the silence,
though far bittersweet
