Her Battleground

She was full of hope, happiness and sunshine, 

The fear of failure ruined it all,

Turned her into a sorrowful mess, 

Emotionless she kept going and going, 

Alas! She couldn't run away from failure 

And when it was staring right at her face,

Her nightmares came true . 

Felt like being thrown into an abyss, 

There was no going back it seemed, 

The rays of morning sun which danced in her room 

Didn't intrigue her about the beauty of it anymore 

The chirping of birds no more felt like music 

The rustling of leaves felt like they were laughing,

For she had failed, for the first time 

The mirror didn't show her the girl she wanted to see anymore 

The one who always had a white gleaming smile, 

The one who was proud of her success, 

‘Why me?!’ She cried 

‘Because you tried to run away from failure ‘ the subconscious replied 

‘Try fighting it and defeating it ‘ it said 

‘

And maybe it was right, 

She was going to fight, 

And win all those difficult battles of her life!
