Growing As An Adult
Growing As An Adult
A ball in my hand –
Which seemed cheap till yesterday
Has got its value.
The world has changed,
Some who seemed friends earlier,
Have risen as competition.
The yellow, crinkly pages of storybooks,
Which told ‘real’ stories till yesterday
Look illusive.
Tasks which looked simpler from far,
Are showing their complexity,
Demanding more perseverance.
Aging innocence is sowing
The seeds of maturity-
Calling softly the thriving patience-
“It’s a new phase, novel world,
Life has spun webs
But, has given you the determination.
Aspiring souls grab every opportunity,
Out of the rest,
who keep complaining about the best.
Driver you are,
Choice is yours -
where do you want to take your car.”
