1947, the tricolor was hoisted

On the Red fort, India was declared

Free, independent, sovereign,Nation

The first freedom war, which the British

Termed as mutiny was fought, failed

In 1857, followed by many

Violent attempts, ruthlessly foiled

Till the end when there were revolts

In army and navy, strikes in working

Class threatening compelling to hand over

The non-violent movement was started

In 1885, headed by great leaders,

Ended acquiring freedom in 1947,

The signing of handing over taking

Over treaty, framing ideal constitution,

Forming first government, all those

Procedures were carried out by

The non-violent group neglecting the sacrifice

But the patriotic people

Have been paying homage, tribute

To the freedom fighters through

Events, acts, stories, songs, movies,

Installing their memorials

permanently In Their hearts
