Finding A Way
Finding A Way
Around her, the walls closed in
The familiar mist took shape again, slow but menacing
His voice was like a gleaming ray through the clouds
The ray of hope, behind veils and shrouds
Would she find a way?
It grew like weeds in the forest
Buzzed and enchanted, she was a butterfly, in unrest
Blank for so long, the canvas of her life
Was seeing the bright hues, away from strife
Did she find a way?
Unaccustomed to the endearment, she couldn't resist
Submitting to his crave, without whom she couldn't exist
But no story of sunrises can be complete without the dark
A lotus, without the mud, would never make its mark
Did she find a way?
Gathering in the horizon again, here came the mist
How long could she hide, how long would she resist
His smile was an injection of warmth, but she knew
It wouldn't last; the joyous hours were few
Did she find a way?
The kisses evaporated, cuddles were a thing of the past
Predicament graced her; her dreams were struggling to last
A branch with a rose has many a thorn,
From an object of love to an object of scorn
Did she find a way?
She thought it would get better, at least she hoped
Was it the same man with whom she had eloped?
Blames and fights, no night would end without tears
The rosy canvas - now smeared with dark colors
Did she find a way?
Oblivious of emotions, a clock began to tick
The devil waited, his lips he began to lick
Judgement day was here, the devil did take aim
What was his, he sure lay his claim
She did find a way . . .
