Wings Flutter...

Wings Flutter...

2 mins

Eerily silent were

Her glum eyes…

As if she had shut out

All her door and windows…

From the iridescent rays of aspiration

Of aspiration… Of desire… Of hope…

As if she had accepted,

All the old ways through which

Fate, was taking her…

The stop signal had yet not changed…

And it seemed like t’was taking forever…

Fidgeting with the seat-belt, still dazed…

She looked in to the mirror,

That opened up to the rear view…

An inferno of wheels and horns,

By and by did they halt and go…

The sound of a flutter,

Lit up her senses to act…

A glinting glance thrown towards her right,

Well, not flutter, but flutters in fact!

Of a hundred pigeons pulling off a spectacular flight…!

The pigeons like a whirlwind wild…

Flying in patterns across that busy road…

She watched in awe, like a child…

A joy in her eyes, a sorrow to behold…

Oh! How she longed to be one among them…

Soaring and gliding along the infinite skies…

Though her belt strap withheld her rash and firm…

Quelled yearning once more darted beyond the horizons of her eyes…

No one dare question neither reason nor path…

No one dare object or dissuade…

Theirs was a universe with no aftermath.

Theirs was a voyage with only conquers made.

To and fro they’d oscillate…

Between grains and pulses and then the relentless whirring…

Upwards they’d fly…

Only to gather elsewhere…

Within her, now, tumultuous stirrings…

At last the traffic signaled green,

The wind had changed its course…

She sensed it too –

Hopes replenished, she now felt unbelievably serene…

Equally steadfast as a horse…

One last look at the flight of pigeons,

A smile of gratitude did she give…

She would resurrect her life,

Brick by brick,

No more of pointless sighing,

She will ‘live’…
