Leopard
Leopard
Took a trip, long due to a resort on forest's edge
All I wanted was away from home for some peace and quiet
I went with zero enthusiasm for the sake of it
Upon reaching my cottage I was filled with zing
So much of open space and fresh air to breathe
No wonder the tribals are happy even when beneath
Totally detached from outside world I wanted to laze around
With a mindset to capture everything the eyes could see
A trait built in our DNA from the time of adam and eve
I set out on a jungle safari to scout the forest
Wishing to see what little is left of flora and fauna
Fear, respect and sadness flowed through me
Sitting in the noisy bus a veil of bravery covered me
The two legged predator scared the four legged one
Uneventful trip except for a few animals of prey
Ever watchful birds informed them all of our presence
Day ended with couple of pegs hoping to soothe the tired legs
For the next morning was our trekking to sight the elusive leopards
Armed with binoculars and a staff we set out eagerly
Third time lucky saw the wild cat perched on top of a hill
Relaxed and majestic with a stare to dare
Sent chill down my spine and out popped the goose bumps
Satisfied and happy returned back in one piece
What an eventful journey this has been
