Dying Flower
Dying Flower
Yesterday, I was a brimming merry flower,
Greeting every passer-by with a heartwarming smile
They would enjoy my redolence and beam
And move on to enjoy their life
But today, I felt frail,
My life was being sucked out
I drooped down and sank into the soil
Tired and sad, my life slowly ebbed away.
The sun mocked at me,
and burnt down my hapless petals,
The wind manhandled me,
and roughly pushed away my stalk
I watered my shriveled roots with my tears,
I consoled my waning heart,
I tried to smile for the last time,
But it seemed that no one was interested in me anymore
