Urbanity
Urbanity
Roads of trash and tar,
Houses of cement and paint, devoid of love,
Vacuum and toil, fill out the city,
Yet no celebration is heartfelt.
A pale smile lingering on the lips,
Just conceal the horrors in the heart,
All feelings are huddled inside stilted pretentions ,
And a look of benignity masks the frigid mind inside.
Work, work, expenses, encumbrances, and impediments,
Burdens the mind, heart, and soul,
On the path of comfort, the feet bleed,
Yet heaving and carrying the desires along.
This is the verity of the urban locale,
And the life of those living in it,
Advanced and newfangled,
This is the peak of disingenuity.
