Drowning in Darkness
Drowning in Darkness
In a darkness deep, the world surrounds,
It pulls me under, no solid ground.
The waters rise, they steal my air,
A silent struggle, a heart laid bare.
The weight is heavy, the current strong,
It drowns my voice, it feels so wrong.
I gasp for breath, the surface far,
Lost in the night, without a star.
But deep within, a spark remains,
A quiet fire through all my pains.
Though water stifles, though shadows bind,
My spirit fights, my strength I find.
I push, I claw, I break the wave,
For I’m no prisoner, no soul to save.
The world may try to pull me down,
But I’ll rise again, I’ll never drown.
Through the darkest depths, I’ll find the shore,
And claim the life that’s mine once more.
No force can hold, no tide can tether,
I’ll breathe again, now and forever.
