Day 1 - A November to Remember
Day 1 - A November to Remember
November arrived quietly, carrying a soft winter light.
I had promised myself this month would be different.
I would notice the small moments, the ones we usually miss.
I was sitting alone at my favourite corner table in the cafe.
The same place where I write, where I dream, where I wait.
Rain had left the streets clean and the air smelled like new beginnings.
That is when I saw her for the first time.
Not in a crowded place, not with any noise, just a quiet entry.
She walked in with a book in her hand and rain on her shoulders.
She did not look around for attention.
She simply chose the table opposite mine and opened her book.
There was a calmness in her eyes that made the whole room feel softer.
I wanted to look away, but I could not.
There was something in the way she turned the pages,
As if every word meant something personal to her.
The waiter brought my coffee, but I forgot to drink it.
I kept wondering who she was, what story she was reading,
And whether she believed in unexpected meetings.
When she finally looked up, our eyes met for only a second.
It was not long, but it was enough to leave a mark.
She smiled slightly, then went back to her book.
In that one second, my November changed.
It was no longer just another cold month.
It became a month I would remember, because it had finally begun.
I closed my notebook and wrote one line.
"Some stories begin without a single word spoken."
This was day one, and I already knew, this November would be unforgettable.
