Date Night

Date Night

I faced you at the mall in the city

Where the couples were rendezvousing,

We were gawking at each other

Or should I say, our eyes were flirting!

I said 'Hi' with a simper

You replied with a tender 'Hello",

I think I fell in love with you then

But, I was never such kinda fellow.

I'd never ascertained anyone so beautiful

To keep eyeing for unending time,

It never happened before that I went mute

And all my senses started to mime.

We talked, we dined,

We voyaged through the city,

I stamped on your feet

('Coz I was lost within your aura)

And that indeed was a pity!

And belatedly, the moment came

You were about to leave,

I fancied to stop you for a moment;

That was something I myself couldn't believe!

We shook our hands

With the promise of meeting again,

And went on our own ways,

I couldn't stop you with me tonight

My eyes started jamming with haze.

I turned back and couldn't see you

You were forgotten in the crowd,

My heart started building silence....

But the city was still very loud!
