Dark Corners Of The Street
Dark Corners Of The Street
In the dark corners of the street
Thirst growing every second due to the heat
They lay on the footpaths
Knocking on different car windows
With immense pain in their hearts
As the child unhealthy doesn’t grow.
Hoping someone has mercy on them
Even one meal a day is a gem
Going through the bin
On the dirty roadside
Their bones take shape through their skin
Their lips parched and dried.
They look regretfully at their child
Their hearts with pain go wild.
Thoughts about abandoning them
Enters their minds a thousand times
But no parent could be this inhuman
Their hatred for themselves never sublimes.
