The Wave Series: Sounds

The Wave Series: Sounds

1 min 449 1 min 449

There are sounds,

All sorts of sounds, all around

The laughter of children chasing Frisbees

The romantic soft whispers of young couples

And their furtive kisses

The toothless cackle of a group of aged friends

Reminiscing about their past

The whooshes of humid air holding many secrets

The flapping of wings

The pants and puffs of the jogger bracing up against the winds

Silent tears of a lonely woman staring into the horizon

I sit on the shore taking in the sights

Shushing the noise in my head

To listen to the waves

And their constant rolling and chattering

What are they trying to convey

Do they whisper about the hidden secrets that they hold

Within their many folds in the depth of the sea

Perhaps complaining about the ships and boats

That cut through their sleeping waters

As I brood over flitting half ideas

Suddenly out of the huge blue

Everything falls into place

The waves, the suffering, and sounds of life

And the deep quietude within
