If I Were Invisible (Family)
If I Were Invisible (Family)
If I were invisible
I would have gone
to school of my daughter
to see how notoriously she is mixing with her little friends.
I would have seen how
with her fragile yet so sweet voice,
she is singing the rhymes.
I would have saved her invisibly
if she would fall while
sprinting with her small legs
And I would have seen
how she is guzzling her food from the tiffin box prepared by my lovely wife.
Yes, if I were invisible,
I would have gone home to run with my son, the toddler,
guarding him so that he would not fall.
I would have loved him in my invisible arms though he wouldn’t understand. Seeing his all childish act,
tears would have trickled from my eyes out of happiness.
Yes, if I were invisible,
I would have disappeared from my place of work,
I would have taken rest on the same bed with my wife,
I would have done something to make her realize that I am her hubby
who has gone to distant land for earnings.
I would have held her while she was asleep,
close to my bosom,
telling her tired, closed eyes
And inactive lips,
how much I miss them,
how much I love them,
And to what extent I am incomplete without her.
On my return, I would have kissed her lips with my invisible lips
promising that I would come soon to meet her.
