Crown Me With Thorns

Crown Me With Thorns

O Nightly Stranger, crown me with thorns.

For we caused despair, many a storm.

Though are actions indifferent, you’re the rose.

And I am the thorns, a part no one chose.

O Unknown Friend, we were in this together.

We were two wholes changing the weather.

You got pearled as a martyr, a rose crown.

While I, forgotten and left to drown.

I yearned to be adorned in such a light.

Yet I’m hidden away in shadows of night.

But, I deserve to be crowned with thorns.

A subject disdainful, a person of scorns.

The thought of my deeds weighs my mind.

But it is true, both our actions were unkind.

Yet I’ll say, crown me with thorns and you rose.

I will protect you now, your ignored woes.

I was terrified of being the thorns, the lesser.

But the thorns are a strong professor.

They taught me to embrace my fate,

An individual devoid of resentful hate.

I am worthy of a crown, a crown of thorn;

It is my pride that it is mine to be worn.

For a rose crown, I would not stoop so low.

For thorns do not wilt when it snows.

I resented you for being loved and respected,

But a crown of roses wilted as time neglected.

Crown me with thorns, it is eternally mine.

It does not care for neglect, an entity divine.

They tried to insult me with this beauty.

Yet this crown of thorn is my duty.

I wear it happily atop my jagged throne,

This thorned crown is mine and mine alone.

This thorny crown may prick out my blood,

A reminder I have stood through many a flood.

Even when it hurts to know who I am within,

A jagged ruler of a thorned crown lies therein.
