Child Labor Is A Serious Issue!
Child Labor Is A Serious Issue!
The poet is writing a poem referring to a twelve year girl who has come to the city leaving her family in the village..
They need me for washing dishes, doing laundry, babysitting their child
They don’t even pass a smile like my father did
They even scold me if their child gets wild
I feel that they are just too guilty to admit
That they use me as their mere slave
They are so rich but they can’t afford a bit of care that my family used to give
They just spare pillow for me and make me sleep on the floor
Which feels harder than the earth of my village?
They don’t let me meet my folks
Though they give me salary,
But how can it feel dearer that the pocket money I used to get a few years ago?
When I ask them for giving me a day off
They simply say “chores are to be done daily, you cannot go”
When I say that I am seriously not interested in your job
They reply politely” oh! We will double your salary within a month” and stuff..
Help me!
Save me from this child labor pollution!
