Breathing Statues
Breathing Statues

Sometimes I wonder,
What if we all were heartless?
Would we be happier than,
We are now?
Would it be easier to painlessly,
Bid everyone a ciao?
Sometimes I wonder,
What if we all were heartless?
Would we just be on our own?
Without any comrade or bond,
Would the world be like,
A lonely toad in a pond?
Sometimes I wonder,
What if we all were heartless?
Would our brain get tired,
And completely freeze?
For us to constantly look for
The sense of comfort and ease?
Sometimes I wonder,
What if we all were heartless?
Would our eyes not shed a single tear?
Would they be just blinking?
Unknown of feelings- moderate and sheer?
Sometimes I wonder,
What if we all were heartless?
Would there be competition among all?
Would we be so selfish?
Caring not to lift anyone if they fall?
Sometimes I wonder,
What if we all were heartless?
Would a heartbeat go unheard in a hug?
Or there Would be no concept of embrace,
It would be just moving on with a shrug?
Sometimes I wonder,
What if we all were heartless?
Would there be energies just cold and dark?
Outsmarting the sun,
Leaving it's warm spark?
Sometimes I wonder,
What if we all were heartless?
Would we survive without love?
Or just be unknown to any such notion?
Not living, only existing, waiting to go above?
Sometimes I wonder,
What if we all were heartless?
Would we be even called as human?
With no trace of mankind in us,
Just breathing statues, tired and swollen?
