The officers from last night found her at work.
They wanted to warn her against the masked man on the loose.
She thanked them.
Her nervous eyes took a quick scan of the cafeteria.
Nobody seemed to suspect anything.
She peeked into her handbag to see if it was still there.
It was her only copy of the house keys.
She needed to stay safe till they caught him.
She drove home and bolted the door.
She is immediately revolted by a smell from her kitchen.
She opens the icebox and surveys it.
She needs to start burying them soon.
But before that, she needs a new face.
They’ve got his photo now, maybe she’ll pick a girl this time.
