Boring Titles
Boring Titles
My poem titles are boring, uninspired
Where’s the zing? The oomph? The Chutzpah?
The what? Don’t be dim, don’t be obtuse
Your poem titles are flat, dispirited and dull
Statements are dramatic; questions are not
You need something to inspire people
Build faith in your product. Product, sir?
Yeah, think of your poem as an extension of yourself
One you can unclip and replace at will
Unclip and replace? Hmmm, listening
One invests in a poem and fills it with emotion
Challenges the audience to contemplate or act
Yes, fair assessment. Am I going to call an orange
A sun-ripened ball of taste phenomenon? It’s an orange
Orange is the colour. It cannot be mistaken for a lemon
Jazz up the title, to create interest? Could work with some poems.
No guarantee! Are you saying my poems are flat, dispirited & dull?
No? Are you certain? Place your order. Let’s get the show on the road
Let’s start with the tools of poetry, shall we? Onomatopoeia?
Noisy tenants Bash tenancy tribunal for banning bands blaring?
Going ahead of myself; that’s as much an example of alliteration
Here’s another. Errorrists err excessively. Meaning? What meaning?
Are you questioning my existence? Similes? Bold as a bandit?
Exquisitely equine? I don’t want to perform. I would like you to read my poem
As it comes, as it is. Boring title or not.
