Are you afraid of the dark?
Are you afraid of the dark?
And while you lie there on your bed, ruminating over
The happenings of the day, tell me, my dear,
Are you afraid of the dark?
Are you scared of the varied shades of darkness
It unleashes on you, trying to keep you a captive,
Within it's abhorrent premises.
The nightmares of your present, those loathsome figments of your mind,
Do you think they would perhaps some day, be your reality?
Does such a thought repulse you, makes your skin crawl?
The vicious anxiety of an unknown predicament,
Does it gnaw at your mind, scratch at your throat?
Tell me, my dear, are you afraid of the devil coming to life,
In those darkened alleys of an immense terror?
Or are you scared of your own eldritch thoughts,
Who have vowed to drown you and keep you forever
Within their horrid confines?
Tell me dear, are you indeed scared of the night, or are you
Petrified of the person your darkness makes you,
In the phantom of the night?
