An Old Man and his Villa
An Old Man and his Villa
There was a young man dragging feet and tired
Looking very gloomy as he was fired
'Oh Almighty, how shall I go home without money?
And how can I face my children and my Honey?'
Stopped suddenly the young man and peeped beyond a gate
And couldn't believe his eyes what he saw I bet
There stood a huge villa made of shining marble
And an old man reading book stretching feet on a table
'Oh so Lucky', sighed wide eyed young man
'Must meet this fellow', opened the gate and he ran
Stood before the old man he said 'O Fortunate thee'
How to accumulate so much wealth, share the secret with me'
Startled the old man by the young man's gesture
Smiled he , noticing young man's impatient nature
Slowly he took his feet down from the table
'Overnight Success' he whispered 'are only in the fables'
Slowly removed his shoes and his socks
Feet full of scratches and scars, young man was shocked
'Oh God why so scratchy feet?' screamed he
'Don't you have a carpet to glide smoothly?'
'I have faced the rough sea through all my life'
'Along with my children and with my wife'
'Marble surface of the villa is the symbol you see',
'That I have waded through the rough sea'
' waded through the rough sea'
