An Arcane Escapade
An Arcane Escapade
Lost in a tenebrous forest,
I was flustered and devoid of rest,
There I saw a man quite stern,
Who was guarding a cavern.
I went to that old bloke,
And very vigorously, I spoke,
Can I get a shelter for night?
Suddenly, he disappeared in a flash of light.
Thereafter, I found myself in a wooden creek,
Where I saw a lady in bleak,
She looked like a crone,
And tried knackering me with a stone.
Thereby, I fell on the ground,
And saw many witches abound,
They were all coming near to me,
So, I tried my best to flee.
They fettered my hands and locked me in the cage,
Which was surrounded by a gargantuan sage,
Alongside, there was a Lucifer,
Who was feeding a heifer.
The Lucifer came nearer to me,
He unbarred my hands to set me free,
He came yet closer and said,
"You've to fetch a Jasper from the sea-bed"
As I had helped you in the Age of Vice,
Hence, You have to pay me a price.
"What can I do", I asked him in delirium,
He said:- "Do your bit for reinstating my imperium.
You have to save my bacon too,
And aid me without a delay or ado,
Thereupon, I acceded to do him a good turn,
And Also furnish credit of his help in return.
He revealed:- "Jasper is kept in the box of foam,
Which is protected by a gnome,
His power can be dwindled by a Jade,
A gem buried under ebony trees in the glade.
All my powers are confined in the Jasper,
Unless you bring it, You shan't scarper,
Being accursed, I can't bring the stone,
Hence, you have to do it all alone."
Thereby, I began my escapade,
Which was the quest of Jasper 'n' Jade,
So I went to the forest of Ebony,
Where the bushes were quite thorny.
I dug the ground using a spade,
And As soon as I found the Jade,
I ran along the sea-bed,
And did exactly what the Lucifer had said.
I had raised the Jade so high,
That it coruscated the dark sky,
The gnome tried snatching Jade from my hand,
But it fell onto the sand.
The gnome morphed into a hound,
Being flabbergasted, I fell on the ground.
He mutilated me by flinging away tinders,
And imprecated curse upon me to turn to cinders.
I pleaded:- "I abjure not to come here again,
Pardon me! and don't give such a bane."
He replied, "Troth to forget this adventurous plight,
I'll extricate you from the malediction of this night."
I agreed to shroud the hunt of Jasper 'n' Jade,
That's how it became an Arcane Escapade,
Next Day, as the sun diffused it's gleam,
I woke up from my chimerical dream.
