Alienated

Born and brought up in a different culture, 

The change of place shocked her. 

Her skin color, her hair, 

Her mannerisms and voice, 

Every tiny thing you name, 

Was made fun of at the new abode. 

She felt like an alien 

Amongst the so-called earthlings. 

She was never included, 

In any of their happenings. 

She often felt lonely 

And was named the UGLY DUCKLING. 

She tried hard to gel into the family, 

Did everything to please people around. 

No matter the amount of effort she took, 

And the love she showered, 

The tag stuck upon her, 

The tag called ALIEN.
