Ageing Uphill
Ageing Uphill
Old age is a pain trying to fight it in vain
Don’t scoff in disdain, mind can’t be trained.
Hope is drained, and the mood is strained.
The mind can’t stand still, trying to control, a task uphill
I just skate on words downhill.
Some say in old age life you just chill
No rat race, no calendar, for the pain you take a pill.
Life is just ordinary, you are but run of the mill
Ink in plenty but you run out of the quill
Barely hold a teacup, you drink it without a spill
Mind still running, but you ain’t a hunter, can’t go for the kill.
