Acid Attack

Somebody tapped on my shoulder,

I turned back with a smile.

Suddenly drastic changes took place in my life,

When I found myself in hospital with pain.

My body was struggling in between

Life and death.

I could barely open my eyes partially,

Watching myself in oxygen support.

My face got completely devastated due to the acid attack,

Some of my upper body parts got damaged due to a few drops of it.

I was unable to eat or talk with my family members,

When treatment was going for my recovery.

Tears rolled down my cheeks,

Surmising how ugly I would look.

My parents were too poor to arrange money for my treatment,

But somehow, it got arranged by NGOs.

My windpipe ruptured due to high concentrated acid.

Few organs were affected due to the attack.

My dream in joining a well-reputed company,

Got shattered in front of my eyes and I was helpless.

Slowly all of my organs stopped responding,

Death won over my struggling life.

I healed from the pain while leaving my body,

But my dream got shattered at that moment.

Till the end of my journey, I didn't lose hope,

But I always wished to know what was my mistake,

For which I was attacked with acid.
