A Visit To Her Grave
A Visit To Her Grave

When you were the key, and I, the lock,
No sorrow disturbed me in the heart’s deep dock.
I knew I was not alive as those around me seem,
Yet, in your eyes, I found my soul's true gleam.
Your presence lingered in each fleeting thought,
Crafting moments where only beauty was sought.
Your voice, a melody, both day and night,
A symphony that soothed my inner plight.
Through my veins, your essence did glide,
As though your touch embraced me from inside.
I dwell now
with loneliness, my eternal mate,
Weeping, for you are not there to alleviate my fate.
But I know it was destiny's harsh decree,
To spare you from burden, from loving me.
Forgive me, O Lord, for the love I gave,
Grant my love a home in the heavens, to save.
My beloved, will we meet once more?
Beyond this breath, through life's final door?
I sing now my last song, a sacred refrain,
You were, you are, and you shall remain,
My first, my last, my love forevermore.
