A Quiet Place in Her Heart
A Quiet Place in Her Heart
Every time she sees your face,
her heart forgets its steady pace.
A mix of feelings, hard to hide—
jealousy, guilt, and hurt inside.
She sees you strong, your life so bright,
everything in place, just right.
She softly wonders, deep within,
why she never met you then.
But then a gentle voice will say,
“She wasn’t ready in those days.”
She chased no dreams, let life just be,
and left it all to destiny.
She tries to stay away from you,
tells herself she’s finally through.
Yet just when she begins to mend,
you find your way back again.
You stand before her, calm and near,
she smiles, though her heart’s unclear—
is she happy you are here,
or hiding pain she cannot share?
She hears your words, she steals a glance,
and holds on to each small chance.
For one brief moment, it feels true—
like all of this is her and you.
But then you speak of her so light,
and she steps back, out of sight.
She fades away without a sound,
like she was never around.
These feelings she will never show,
too deep to speak, too hard to let go.
She fears that if she speaks what’s true,
she might lose even knowing you.
Sometimes she wonders why you stay,
when life has given you your way.
Maybe she’s just your place of rest,
a quiet pause you love the best.
Or maybe somewhere, deep and true,
there’s still a place for her in you.
Still, she’s thankful from her heart,
for this quiet, gentle part—
a place to breathe, to simply be,
a silent home in her, set free.
Though life left spaces yet to fill,
her heart feels deeply… and always will.
