A Lovely Pair in London!

Years ago, back in two thousand six,

We had been to London on a trip,

That’s when I saw a little boy with his mom,

Waiting for their bus, being so calm!

 

Just can’t forget this little boy and his mother,

As I found them one smarter than the other,

The boy had a bar of chocolate in his hand,

Its wrapper was all so crushed and crammed!

 

The little boy took out the stuck wrapper,

Every bit of it, annoyed and with some blabber,

He gave every bit he removed to his mother,

She patiently waited for him to uncover!

 

Each bit her son gave her, she put in her purse,

This is what was meant for the child to observe,

Finally, once he opened it fully,

He ate the whole thing off happily!

 

The lesson the mother taught her little one was not to litter,

By doing and showing him, she built his character,

That’s how the London streets were so clean I knew,

When babies were brought up like this and grew!

 

Not a single piece of paper or waste anywhere,

All so spick and span and clean everywhere,

We need to learn to keep our streets clean from this pair,

Not just our own houses clean, but even the thoroughfare!
