A Love Once Ours

A Love Once Ours

At the start, all was bright,

Like a fairytale, bathed in light.

Slowly, we learned, we grew,

In your eyes, love felt true.

With you, my heart found home,

In your arms, a world of my own.

But life’s weight, its ruthless tide,

Pulled love under, made it hide.

I whispered secrets, laughed so free,

A carefree child, just being me.

Danced around, unafraid,

In your presence, I felt safe.

But now, my love, you’ve changed your tone,

The warmth has gone, I stand alone.

Once, my quirks brought you delight,

Now, they annoy, now they bite.

At times, I’m foolish, at times, insane,

Too childish, too much—you complain.

Yes, I know, the world weighs you down,

But must my heart bear your frown?

You know I’m fragile, soft as air,

Yet, you wound me, do you care?

My words once mattered, now they fade,

My silence now feels like a blade.

Once, my sulking made you stay,

Now, my silence drives you away.

Where has our love, our story led?

A crossroad now, where hearts have bled…
