A country celebrates its Independence Day,

You have the freedom, people say.

I ponder about freedom,

With inequalities in casteism.

The one who has given birth to gods,

Is still fighting against all odds.

Proving herself at every step,

For any sacrifice, she is always prep.

Domestic violence is on the rise,

Female foeticide is no surprise.

Outshines in multiple aspects,

Gender biases hinder her prospects.

Deprived of the basic education,

Child labor adds to tabulation.

True independence will exist,

Once we abate the above list.

Let's work together for a safe India,

To make it a #FreeIndia.

Freedom to live and freedom to speak,

Can topple the inequalities from its peak.

Let’s do a little more,

With independence from the core.

Our little steps can pave a long way,

Will thrive for a new day.

Let's empower, enlighten and educate,

Before it is too late.
