Fallen Stars

I dreamt about unicorns and rainbows last night

When I woke up in the darkness

I wished I could trade this reality for my dreams 

The dreams where there were no crimson bruises

The dreams where no one was screaming

The dreams where my pain was not weeping

The dreams where I wasn't afraid of being me, I was visible

Where my thoughts belonged to me

But the darkness said it was not feasible

Tears coasting down my cheeks

I can feel their warmth

They're warm enough to burn my skin

I wonder if my eyes are burning

Or are they just fallen stars
