The Reality Of Life

Sudden fire spread on

The battlefield, making

Everyone run in confusion

A mother bird guarded the nestlings

In nest on the ground, saw

Fire approaching, became restless

When flame came almost

Touching the nest, neglecting them

Took flight, sat on the tree top

Watching her nestlings in distress,

In the meanwhile an elephant

Came running towards, its

Big bell fell on the nest,

Because of the stampede

The crawling fire was extinguished.

The bell was removed, mother

Bird eagerly came down

To see her nestlings safe

Moved forwards to meet,

But all of them turning 

Their backs to her said,

“You have left us in Calamity

To save yourself, we don’t need you

Goodbye”, the mother too left

To build another nest
