A Box of Chocolates

A Box of Chocolates

A box of chocolates,

Bound by a ribbon of

Colour blue. This

Deal is one of the best

Ever done by me,

For I bought it from a lad.

Gave a penny and a

Half after much bargain.

I know, it's a good deal.

Just to be sure,

Knot it tight I did

Lest the ribbon slip.

Much precious the box is.

Now I rush home,

Overexcited and thrilled.

Pleased am I, for

Quiet safe in my hands,

Rests the box of chocolates.

Surprised you will be,

To see the present that has been

Unopened till now.

Vexed instead you are.

What happened dear?

Xanadu! The box is empty!

You are mad at me, aren't you?

Zealous too much I was.
