Ecstasy At Roseteak Mansion

Around 11 pm. Sunday 2015 10th December: The Roseteak Mansion is covered in darkness of the sky. High teak trees dancing fiercely with every strike of monsoon wind. Rose shrubs are making whistling sounds along with the fragrance spreading all around the mansion. 

At this hour, a woman dressed in a long white gown is walking on the second floor corridor of the mansion. Her steps are towards the rooftop. She reached the top and continued walking in an unconscious way as if sleepwalking until she reached the tip of wall and climbed. There aren't any obstacles to stop her from falling down but that is what she wants to do. She turned her head towards right looked up and said "aiutami, Yash, mi dispiace.” Next second she fell from the top of the mansion as a leaf separated from the tall teak tree hitting the ground. Security who witnessed the falling of a girl from far reached near the body and screamed aloud…! 

After seven years;

2022 September 10th Monday around 11am. It's been a few weeks since a new batch of doctors arrived at Roseteak Mansion hospital to practice under experienced and popular doctors who have been working in the mansion hospital for years. Roseteak mansion estate being hundred kilometres away from the city, in a nature filled environment, experienced doctors, covered in a area of twenty acres, with hundred rooms; fifty on each floor varying in space like rooms for patients, guest rooms for doctors, two big auditoriums one on each floor, build with stone, its flawless architecture make it an antique building of wonder. Selfless service offered by the doctors from years together brings many patients without economic differences to the mansion hospital. 

All week days the hospital is filled with patients, doctors are busy treating them. Most Sundays were a bit relaxed and Docs. can rest for a while. The only time one can see less active MH (mansion hospital) is during the month of November during which a carnival is celebrated every year in the closeby city. 

As it is Monday Junior Doctors are actively participating in all the treatments. Senior Doctors were explaining the process to treat patients by knowing their disease. Shanivi is one among the Jr. Docs., merit in the list and evinced her excellent skills in treating patients. Her witty, friendly ways made her most likable. Total of ten Jr. Docs. arrived that year, along with fifteen Sr. Docs. Total of twenty five doctors were available in the MH. 

"You are lucky" said Dr. Richman (name given by Jr. Docs., His real name is Manyachith he got that title from his rich lifestyle) " I don't remember exactly but five or six years back, mansion's  top floor got renovated as it got infested with bats, it was horrible at the time, smell and sounds. You are free from that devastation along with new renovated rooms. “Really we never heard about bats infestation but I know about a girl commiting suicide" said Kewar a Jr. Doc. "Yes, but I don't know what happened to her. I'm on leave then.“ said Richman. But he was enjoined by all Jr. docs. together to reveal the truth. “You can ask Dr. Sanjai. She was her batchmate," ending the fun, Richman asked them to focus on patients. 

Shanivi looked disturbed by the word suicide, looked tensed and felt whispers around her. Kewar gave her a pat on back “what happened, we are moving to another patient, “ahh! Yes yes I'm with you guys, chalo, lets move" saying Shanivi joined the group. It's been a month since they arrived and joined the program. The first few weeks were happily spent. Since last week she has been confused. The reasons are she is hearing voices, seeing things at nights, as a doctor she shouldn't believe what's happening, but day after day it's becoming apparent, voices are getting clearer. Unable to share with others she put up with herself.

 

"Booooo!" Shanivi turned back shouting and looked kewar, scaring her to death. With furor face she took a rod beside patients bed and tried to beat Kewar, he ran all over the room shouting Shanu.. no pleaseeee Shanu, all colleagues and patients supporting Shanu, shouting " smash the sack, smash the sack". After a while, tired Shanu sat on a chair breathing heavily. "Next time you pay for this. I won't leave you alone Kewar," shouts Shanu. Dr. Hitler (got this name because of his strictness, His real name is Hitanshu) enters the room listening to the chaos, everyone one goes back to places as if nothing happened. Dr. Hitler is also chairman of the hospital. He checks the room, completes his rounds and warns Jr. Docs. to concentrate on patients' problems, leave with an unsmiling face. Someone from the group asked, ``Do you think his family saw him smiling? “ another answered " i bet you can make him " previous one" sorry dude, he looks fine that way "

Its night 11'o clock Shanu hearing voices in her room. She is awake sat on bed but not in her consciousness. Suddenly raised from bed came out in a long white gown which is different from her normal routine. Walk all around the second floor corridor and go back to room and sleep. Some patients and colleagues see her but they don't get suspicious. But when she is seen doing the same every night they got skeptical, when she was called by her name she doesn't reply, or give any signal, do the same thing and go back to her room. This incident made all people believe that Shanu got possessed. 

When this issue is taken to the notice of chairman Hitanshu. He said “I myself look into this matter today, now you can all go.” That night Hitler was already waiting for Shanu roam the place as usual. When she came near him he took her hand and in a loud voice called her name "SHANUU" then as reply she said "who is Shanu? I'm Shalini" her eyes are blue in colour, voice is definitely not Shanu's.. All this is witnessed by many others around them. Everyone is trembling with fear. Kewar is the only person thinking about the name Shanu said to Hitler. He heard that name before... 

Chairman after listening to this left the place immediately with a confused face; he is hearing this name after seven years. He does not have any idea why that name is heard, he won't believe in superstitious beliefs or witchcraft. He definitely knew something was fishy. He is determined to bring out the truth. 

Kewar is jumping in curiosity he remembered the name he heard the previous night. It was none other than SHALINI a Jr. Doctor like them who committed suicide. As all the evidences police gathered suggested the death as suicide, that case got closed within a week from the incident. Now, after seven years, the same name was heard from Shanu. He explains all this to their fellow mates, including Shanivi. 

Shanu is worried to know about her peculiar behavior. She doesn't remember a thing from last night. Kewar comforted and supported her. A boy stands near the door and ask for Sahnu, informing the chairman wants your presence immediately. 

Shanu walks into the Chairman's office. Hitler in his deep voiced tone asked Shanu "how do you know her?"  "Who?" she asked. I don't believe in your fallacy; just let the truth be out. I'm trying to know truth myself. This is the first time Shanu being in chairman's office, she look  around, her looks stuck at the antique cupboard, eyes widened controlling her startling moment, she felt like her quest was over. Suddenly she came into her senses when Hitler hit hand to the bench shouting Shanivi. "Yes, I will definitely help you if I knew," she says to him. "That's fine, you can leave now". With this Shanu comes out of his room with a small grin on her face. 

Darkness entered the estate slowly and the time has come to put her final plan in action. Shanu wears long white gown and start walking as usually, this time her steps are towards Hitler room, opens the door enter the room with her blue eyes, furious face. Goes near to the cupboard, on the top of it she sees a symbol of a sphinx half human half lion with wings and a ring at the bottom to open secret chamber of the mansion. She pulls the ring, to her wonder cupboard spread into two halfs giving way to another room through the wall. She walks down the stairs and surprised to see space as big as mansion. Mansion has three floors, one in the underground, she thinks. Some people wearing lab coats are sleeping in some rooms, other rooms are filled with various lab equipment. At that moment she hears someone clapping behind her, turning her head see, Hitler "wow wow wow, who is this? exactly looking like Shalini." "yes Iam shalini 's sister Shanivi now tell me why you killed my sister?". Hitler laughs cruelly, “I didn't kill her, I made her do it herself. Same situation is going to happen to you as well. You both are lucky to have same type of death. She was drugged by me, she also helped me as my lab rat. See this is my domain, here we are experimenting on new type of drugs, when this drug is used by a person he loses contact with reality, this is called Project Ecstasy, we receive orders from blackmarket from their spreads throughout the world. Now as you know everything about me, I will drug you with my very new invention. “Wait!” Shanu shouted," my sister is smart, how you made her fall from top." she is emotional fool, when she entered this chamber, she found a young girl who is here for experimenting, your sister thought to escape estate along with her, I then drugged her told her if she doesn't jump I will kill them both if, she jumps alone, young girl is safe. To save young girl life Shalini alone took her life, and then we created it as suicide. It was said she is orphan, no parents, to collect her body now I don't know from where you entered the scene saying her sister?"

“Our parents died just before my sister was selected as a doctor, I was sent to boarding school for my education. My sister writes to me every month without fail. “Aww! Now you have no one to save you. “ With this Hitler signal a person from back to bring something. 

At this moment the secret door was opened with a force and police entered the room with guns pointed at Hitler. Everything in the lab is taken over by the police. Shanivi looks at a man strongly built and handsome and ran towards him, hug him saying, "Yash, we did it" “yes, we are" told Yash. 

With all the process come to rest, police, and all people in mansion wonder how they arrived at the right moment to save Shanivi. Kewar and Thej (police head) ask Yash and Shanu. 

Yash reveals everything from the beginning. When Shalini died, they both knew it wasn't suicide. Yash is a CBI  officer and Shalini’s fiancé, Shalini knew if she dies her death wouldn't be investigated, so she left clues, one every time she writes a letter to Shanu, letter ends with a sphinx symbol, which is on the cupboard. That's how when Shanu found the symbol she knew she was nearer to the truth. 

Secondly, Shalini knew Yash would check cctv footage after her death. Yash is lip reading expert, they both play games on finding words through lip reading. They both were excellent speakers of Italian, when jumping down she turned towards cctv speaking "aiutami, Yash, mi dispiace. “ meaning "help, Yash, I'm sorry". These two helped us to know something is going on in the mansion. When mansion was under renovation yash himself attended as a one of the renovator and placed cameras all around the mansion. Only place missed was the chairman room as it was locked and said renovation was not needed. However, the building has been under surveillance since then but we couldn't find any clues as the chairman himself was taking care of illegal activities. That's when we decided to enter the estate through Shanivi as a doctor, acting as possessed, this worried chairman took her to the room where she found the symbol of the passage. Rest is known to all. 

15th September 2022:

Kewar jumps from the group in anxiety however our Shanivi is not a ghost but Hitler is definitely one. With this everyone laughs and the mansion is now turned into a best place for doctors as well as patients.
