You were being watched....

Severe rain was pouring down and the graveyard was filled with guards, police, and a few political officials holding umbrellas, attending the funeral ceremony of the 35-year-old Varalakshmi Ramakrishnan, the daughter of the great leader and politician Veerendra Ramakrishnan, who died a week back. The only expectation of all the people who were present there was that they would be led by one of the most powerful woman they ever knew, who is now lying still. 

As the funeral work was going on Dhruv Kumar, the Subinspector of police was completely suspicious about this case. His mind didn't let him accept the fact that Varalakshmi has died in an accident. 

The funeral was completed and everyone started returning back. But Veeralakshmi sat there, near the coffin of her sister, and was sobbing with a very weak voice. Dhruv took her up and both of them left the place. As they were returning Dhruv started shooting some questions about the death of her sister. "Are you suspicious about your sister's death?" he asked with a curious voice. 

"No, no. Who on Earth would try to kill a person this brutally?" replied Veeralakshmi. 

After saying this she lowered her tone... And with a very soft voice expressed that her sister looked after her just in a way that her mother did. She started crying after saying so. They reached their destination and Dhruv left home. But he was not satisfied and didn't want to leave this case. After all, he admired Varalakshmi and without his own knowledge somewhere in the corner of his heart, he had a special respect for her. 

The next day he visited Mr. Selvan, the personal assistant for Varalakshmi, and enquired about her. "How were her days after Veerendra sir's death?"

"Varalakshmi mam was a very stubborn, dignified, and one-of-a-kind person. She always thought about welfare and was concerned about people and their needs. She had plans of what to do for the party and always took care of all the members of the party. She never showed a difference among people" said Mr. Selvan and started crying after this. After consoling him, Dhruv asked if there was anything suspicious about the death of Varalakshmi.

"No sir, no person in the universe would get a heart to kill such a person. We need to assume that it was God's will" replied Selvan. Then came Krishnan, Varalakshmi's uncle. He lived and led the party from Mumbai. Due to an important party meeting, he was late to visit the family. As soon as he came, he spoke to certain party members and consoled all the people, and thanked them for visiting their families during the loss. 

As Dhruv was always close to this family, he visited Krishnan immediately and told him about all that he had on his mind. Meanwhile, one of the ministers of the family arrived in between and queried about the next leader of the party. Without any due doubt, Krishnan announced to the media, that he was present from the time of the establishment of the party and knew of all that is to be done and therefore he will be leading the party from there on. Later he ordered an inquiry on Varalakshmi's death. 

Taking this as the lead, Dhruv started picking all the points but didn't get a clear vision for his investigation. There was no one who fully believed that Varalakshmi's death was not a usual one. Later the next day morning "Krishnan sir is no more" was the message he saw as soon as he got up from bed. This led Dhruv into an utter shock. He didn't know what was happening. The whole family was crying as he visited the party's main house. Everyone was in sorrow for the loss when suddenly a gunshot was heard. It was Selvan. He shot himself and died. Nobody understood what was happening. The case turned all the more suspicious for Dhruv. Veeralakshmi fainted and collapsed on the floor. They shifted her to a hospital where doctors diagnosed that she was stressed and disturbed. They told him that she would need to rest for a few days. Dhruv along with his team started working on the continuous deaths that were taking place in the family. 

They started digging deeper. The party unofficially maintained people who would help them politically in all aspects. One of them was Karthik who was in contact with the affairs and dealings of the family. So the police team approached Karthik and enquired about the truth behind the deaths, after which they came to know an unexpected twist. The same day evening Dhruv visited the hospital and told that he wanted to speak to Veeralakshmi personally. 

"Mam, I am sorry to disturb you but I have something very important and urgent to speak about!! As a part of the investigation, we spoke to one of your party members and interrogated him... His name is Karth... "

Just before he completed the sentence

"This is the fate of our family. I don't want any investigation regarding the deaths taking place in my family. Please stop all this" said Veeralakshmi with a tempered tone. 

"Are you disturbed or are you afraid, mam?"

"What nonsense? What should I be afraid of?"

"About the fact that you killed people for the sake of one political throne!!! "

"Stop it Mr. Dhruv...a single word more than this will put you in trouble which you would never imagine"

"What is the maximum that you would do? Kill me just like the way in which you killed your own sister and re-created the scene as an accident? Kill me just like the way you stabbed your own uncle to death? Kill me just the way you killed Selvan and create it as a suicide? Everyone was in sorrow and believed the drama that you created. But mam our officials are everywhere. Meet Mr. Karthik Aryan the investigating officer of the department of Tamilnadu who has been a spy in Veerendra sir's case. The fact that we just realized was that you were a terrific ruthless human being who killed her own father to sit on the throne. It took him this long to finally reveal the mystery behind the cruelty behind your concerning face. You were being watched and now if you end this drama of your unhealthy state...You are under arrest!!!"

As soon as she heard all this... She went into a mental trauma and died in the hospital itself. Veerendra's brother, Krishnan had a son who was unanimously elected as the leader of the party. Maybe if the investigation was late he would have been the next person to die.
