The Night We Met
The Night We Met
The night we met
The broken star found its way
The stray dogs found their home
The bad pendulum of the tower's watch Rang at 12 AM
The cold winds numbed our arms.
The night we met
We let our souls kiss each other
We played the playlist of our favourite songs
The smoke of cigarettes blurred the view of the city
We saw the couples roaming around, Without the fear of night
And the very best moment you hugged me tightly.
The night we met
I recited you one of my favourite poems I ever wrote
And the poetess in you woked up
Then recited the only poem you wrote
On the backside of your notebook.
The night we met
You told me about the ghosts
Those haunted you every night
And I was wondering you were laughing
Because those ghosts were the worst memories
Which turned your eyes red, and drawn dark circles.
The night we met
We cried together after remembering our fights
Due to which we skipped our food and sleeps
We laughed together after remembering our first date
In which we did some embarrassing moments at the club, I saw the purity of love in your eyes.
The night we met
We drank whiskey and you fall asleep in my arms
But the way wind blows your hairs on my face
It irritates me the whole night.
But the way the wind was blowing your hair on my face, kept bothering me all night.
