Axel- The Fallen Hero

A German Shepherd by birth

They are one of the toughest breeds on earth

Of army dogs, there is a dearth

Axel joined the army to prove his worth

He joined the unit in December 2021

Fierce and bold just like the sun

Charged on the enemies even while they had a gun

At the speed of light, he would run

He had given up the idea of fancy and fun

Training and tasks, with diligence, he had done

Trained to carry camera systems on his back

He was always alert and wouldn’t slack

Lost his life in line of action

While carrying out the task of extraction

For such heroes, praises should be sung

Who lose their life for the country while they are so young

To pay homage to the fallen, many had come

His sacrifice for the nation was an inspiration, said some.
