Color Color which color, do you want?

‘You have darker complexion’ why is that a taunt?

White is pure and black is vile

Why are our progressive thoughts still so senile?

 So many products are brought to brighten our skin

Are people ashamed of their heritage, their kin?

Nowadays I hear “Black lives matter”

The thin walls of stereotypes we are ready to shatter

 And yet icons endorse black beauty brands

Hmm… Sounds like a scam?

“I can’t breathe” was said by the desperate man

For stopping this suffocation we need a plan

We don’t need eloquent speeches and massive protests

The idea of bias, every individual should detest

We need to create an environment where humanity can inhale the fresh air

Where every person is cherished, respected, nurtured, and cared…
