Leaf
Leaf
Lush and lively, the leaves tremble
Chirping and swaying in juvenile spring.
But out in contrast, I found one,
Parched, withered, dying leaf.
It is coloured brown and black,
Lamina curled like old man's shawl,
Held by a wilted thin twig,
And rattling, with last gasp of life.
"It takes a heart to love,
But a heart stronger to leave."
The slender twig held firm,
Adamant not to leave.
The wrathful wind whirls,
Shivers the leafy tree.
Withered leaf swirls and clatter,
To wave a final goodbye.
It circles and buries in the soil,
Thus ending from where sprouted.
"Sometimes it is alleviating to leave,
Than to hold long."
