What Should We Do?

'Priyanka Reddy, Damini, Nirbhaya and many more'. I know you all have heard this list and recently Priyanka Reddy is the latest name you will be watching on news, IG stories, Whatsapp stories and on all the social networking sites. Are they famous now? Once everyone dreams to be famous and so these women too but not with a under headline saying she was a victim and she got raped. She never dreamt of making her identity in front of her country in such a way and neither any of the girl out there do.

I got a text from my friend saying repost the picture with the #JusticeForPriyanka. I mean really? Will reposting such posts really help to get her justice? Or will she become alive again to live her life again? Just posting won't help, leading the rapists to be burnt alive because they did the same to her though there was no reason to but we have a reason to burn the rapists alive. I even read that no women want to be India's fucking daughter? I mean this is how our country is leading but in a downward direction. Few days ago I saw a news that a boy was shot dead in the middle of the city in Dubai because he raped a girl. Why this rule is not followed in India? Why rapists are been treated so well which does not resist the new rapist to be born in future. They are kept in jails, are served with dinners like they have made us proud. Why they are not just killed as soon as they get caught?

I am a girl too and I am afraid to go out late nights just because of this kind of situation. I am afraid because I don't wanna get killed and because I still have dreams to be pursued and a life to live. I am very sure that every girl has this kind of fear inside them so what should we girls do? We should sit at home? But let me tell you girls sitting at home also have got raped. Society blames girls that they seduce men to get them raped by wearing short dresses, by staying late night out on roads, etc. Like really? A girl wearing Burkha or salwar also got raped the same as a girl wearing short dresses. A girl got raped at 6pm same as a girl who was raped at 9pm..Instead of judging girls with their time of staying out and what they wear, help them feel safe wherever they go.

We always want our country to be educated but been educated with syllabus is not a big deal. The only thing that matter and the only thing been educated means is having sense to treat a girl better, not only a girl but treat a being better who deserves to be treated well.
