Walk With The Dog

He came from college and went in to his room. He kept his bag aside and went in to the wash room. He sat on the bed wiping his face with towel, and started searching for the mobile by listening to its ring. He took the mobile from his bag “hello” “what are you doing?” his cousin asked. “Nothing, just came from college” “come out” she said and cut the phone. “Hello….hello…..” he kept the mobile in his pocket and went out. There he saw his cousin with her dog standing in front of the gate. “Come on lets go for a walk” she said by seeing him. “I don’t like him” he pointed to the dog. “I don’t care come with me” she demanded. “Get lost” he turned and walked inside. “No come with me please” this time she pleaded. “Look at yourself, you can’t handle it” he said looking at both of them. She is trying very hard to control the dog by holding the leash. “That’s why am calling you” she put an innocent face. He took the leash from her hand and started walking. “Why you want to take him to walk?” “Dad is still in office and my dog is…..” she talked about the dog all the way but he didn’t listen to her, he was just looking around.

There he saw a girl in the portico of the house. He couldn’t see her as she was facing towards the house. He bent back, forward and tried different angles to see her but nothing worked. They walked for other 5 minutes and returned back. This time he didn’t try anything, without his efforts he clearly saw her. She was in the portico facing him and talking in phone. He stood there on the road without moving. He saw many beautiful girls but no one attracted him like her. The dimple smile on her cute face became his favourite smile. “Hey…hello” his cousin tapped him on his shoulder. He came back to reality and then realised that he was with her. “Where are you?” “Nothing” he smiled and went back home.

He wants to see her again and again. He can’t go and stand there without any reason, so he made a plan to see her. Next day he went to his cousin’s house. “I am taking him to walk” he directly went towards the dog. “But you don’t like him” she was surprised by his behaviour. “I started liking him” she didn’t believe his words so went near him. “Tell me the reason” “yesterday did you see that girl?” he asked her. “No” “you are……” “Okay now what are you doing” she didn’t let him talk. “I want to see her again” “oh….okay now listen to me you are taking him for a walk right” she started explaining. “Yes” “play with him be nice to him” “what? No way” “girls like pets, especially dogs so it will be easy for you” she explained him briefly. “Really” “trust me” she said so confidently. By trusting her he took the dog for a walk.

He walked with the dog and slowed down in front of her house. He searched for her everywhere. He thought of his cousins words and started playing with the dog. After 5 minutes she came out of the house and looked at him. Both eyes met. Her cute smile and her eyes, she is so beautiful. He started liking her. They stared at each other for few seconds and she looked at the dog and went inside. Every evening after college he took his cousins dog for a walk. He doesn’t like dogs but he got attached with him. He used to stare at her for few minutes and returned home. He repeated this for a week. Like every evening he took the dog and went to see her. He waited there for 20 minutes but he couldn’t see her. When he is returning home with a sad face he saw her coming towards him. She is checking something in the bag and didn’t notice him. From the day one he was attracted to her and wants to talk to her. But he was scared of her reaction. He is not good with strangers especially girls. When she came near him he said “hi”. She looked at him jerked back a little and went inside in a rush. He was very disappointed. He felt bad. That was the last day he took the dog for a walk.

After a week when he was walking home from bus stop “hi” he heard a female voice from behind. When he turned back he was so surprised to see her. She was the girl whom he was trying to impress from past few days. “Hi” he said with a huge smile. “I am sorry.” “Why?” he was confused when she apologised to him. “A few days back you said hi but I didn’t reply back” she said with a very sweet voice. “Oh yeah that day” he was just looking at her. “Actually I am scared of dogs so…..” “Shit I have wasted all this days and am going to kill my cousin” he thought to himself. “That’s okay, no need to say sorry” he acted like he didn’t care when she said. “What’s your dog name?” she asked with a small smile. He is just looking at her dimple smile even when she is talking. “Actually it’s my cousin’s dog…..” both started talking and continued walking together.

Next day he again took the dog for a walk. He waited for her. “Hi” he said when she is entering in to the gate. She turned back and said “hi” “that’s okay come on” he said by seeing hesitation in her face. She smiled and came slowly towards him. “Be nice buddy” he whispered to dog. “He is big” she said looking at the dog. “Do you want to touch him?” he asked her. “No I am scared” “give me your hand” he took her soft hands and made her touch the dog. “Oh…..he is so soft”. She gave him a big happy smile. More than her he was excited and happy. “Okay then bye” she went inside. “Bye.”

When she went home he bent down “sorry buddy for not liking you and thank you” he said and hugged him.
