Us?

Alexis lived with her mother.

Her father worked in a different place.

Everyone called her Alex.

Her mother used to tell her stories about different places, people and things.

‘Mom, what are humans?’ Alex asked, one day.

‘Us’ said mom.

‘Us? Then do tell me a story about us’ She begged her mom.

‘Yes, yes I will, but later’ said mom.

‘Mom! Please tell it now’ she said.

Her mom smiled, ‘Alright, darling’ she said.

And so, she began:

Long, long ago, our ancestors were not developed as we're now. The people hunted animals, but they were not extinct yet, but as people invented new things, they almost made some animals extinct. In the time we have, we should save the animals before they fade away. We should save mother earth, bring back it's old form. We can do it, people started making sanctuaries, were animals can live freely like in the jungle, the endangered animals are protected here.

When mom finished, she saw that little Alexis, was fast asleep.

She smiled and started with her work again.
